School Clothes – An Expensive but Necessary Investment

Clothes are expensive and school clothes can be particularly dear, especially as they don’t go into the category of discretionary spending. School uniforms can come to a significant sum of money when everything is added up – not only shirts, jumpers, trousers/skirts, perhaps blazers and even socks, but also shoes, sports kit, after school club clothes and equipment… Then include other bits and pieces like stationary, pencil cases, calculators and so on, and multiply by the number of offspring you have at school. It all adds up, and in these straightened times many families will find that it is a very unwelcome addition to their monthly expenditure. The good news is that a London schoolwear supplier who trades online can save you a lot of money, as well as making the shopping trip a lot less stressful than it could be.

Many parents will have experienced the torment of trailing around the regular high street shops, intending to pick up all their children’s school clothes in one go. You can do it in a day, but it’s not fun: you’ll probably have to try several outlets, and since you’ll probably be dragging your children with you to make sure the clothes fit properly, you’ll have to contend with them getting more and more miserable as the day goes on.

The alternative is to measure them up at home and get what you need over the internet. Look for a reputable outlet that stocks all the required brands and you could find exactly what you need, all under the same virtual roof, from shirts to stationary. You should save a lot of money, because these online outlets don’t need lots of staff or big bricks-and-mortar shops in expensive locations on the high street, so their overheads are lower. Make sure they have a good returns policy, just in case you select the wrong item or something that turns out not to fit properly.

Buying school clothes need not be the hassle you are used to. A reputable London schoolwear supplier will be able to meet the role that the high street does, only at better prices. You can do your shopping for school uniforms at a time that is right for you, during your lunch hour or in the evening, from the comfort of your office or home rather than trailing the streets. There are even options to have the clothes delivered direct to school, so if you have left things until the last minute it need not be a disaster.

School uniforms that can be handed down

In the world of business, staff are often glad if their company provides a staff uniform. No money need be spent on endlessly updating one’s wardrobe in order to keep up with trendier colleagues and no time need be wasted on choosing what to wear each morning – as long as one’s work clothes are washed and pressed we can be out of the house in a flash. These are the simple pleasures that school children do not appreciate: for teenagers above all school uniforms represent a denial of their right to self-expression, a curb placed on their identity. But this is probably a positive thing; given that adolescence is a time where young people are still discovering their identity, perhaps it is best that they are allowed to test out different looks on the weekends and return to the reassurance of their school clothes in the week. London schoolwear supplier certainly thinks that the compulsory wearing of uniform in UK schools is something to be proud of. What’s more, assist social cohesion and help conceal the economic differences on which most of us believe to be a bad basis on which to make friends.

In large families, parents tend to be glad if they can send all of their children to the same school wearing good quality uniforms that will survive being shared around. In recent years this has become easier because flimsy materials that once thinned at the knees and elbows have since been substituted for more durable fabrics. Among these fabrics is a Teflon-coated cotton-polyester mix used for school skirts and trousers and non-bobbling wool employed in the most up to date blazers. Many variations on the white school shirt exist so it is best to check the school regulations to see which styles are acceptable and which have been ruled out. In some schools for example, they prefer the girls to wear fitted styles, while others have strict rules against anything too low-cut. In any case, most of the suitable styles of shirt come in non-iron easy-care cotton which means that time can be saved on making sure your child looks smart.

Searching for school uniform can be a stress, even a real headache when the necessary sizes are out of stock. But this is less of a problem now that London schoolwear supplier takes orders via their website. In fact, school clothes shops need not be visited in person if you know what you’re getting because a door to door delivery service has been set up. Buying school uniforms is now simple.

London schoolwear supplier saved me from a massive embarrassment!

Off

When it comes to that time of year – the summer holidays drawing to an end, kids getting restless, even if they don’t want to admit it, they’re getting bored with having nothing to do all day – getting ready to send them back to school fully equipped can be a challenge. Personally, I always tend to make the same mistake. Well, until recently I did, anyway. I always used to think of anything and everything that they might possibly need in terms of stationary, or gimmicks, or other fun paraphernalia. In that respect my two kids would be among the best prepared in the entire school! I’m talking about silly things, like special files with secret compartments, or a compass with flashing LED lights, or an eraser in the shape of Snoopy. But I always used to forget perhaps the most important thing: school uniforms! On the Saturday or Sunday before school started again for the year, I would lay the school clothes out on a chair, look at them, and and think: the kids will have grown out of these! Then, because of my busy day job, it would always be a hassle to find a London schoolwear supplier that was open when I was free, so often I had to rely on friends, which wasn’t ideal.

Nowadays, this is no longer a problem, because I have found a supplier that can deliver my children’s uniforms, which is just brilliant. I get back from work in time to start making dinner, and usually the uniforms have been delivered to my neighbour, who kindly looks after our cat too.

I think the kids are pretty happy I have found a school uniform supplier as well, even if they don’t admit it! Essentially, it means an end to those embarrassing situations on the first day back at school when all the other kids are in their shiny new uniforms, but their shirts are too small, old and uncomfortable. I felt so bad the first time that happened! I also get their sports stuff from the same supplier now, which is great: it gives me much more time to spend on getting fun new stationary!

It’s funny, but I don’t even tend to forget about the school clothes these days. I’m not sure why, but now, when I find myself browsing in a stationary shop and picking up some kind of novelty pencil case, I suddenly think: school uniforms! And I get online so I can put an order in with my London schoolwear supplier.
